Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Germany Expat Tools (germanyexpattools.com) handles information when you use the calculators and pages on this site. The site is operated by an individual based in Germany (EU); operator details will be published on the Impressum page.

The short version

Every calculator on this site runs 100% in your browser. The figures you type in (your points, amounts, and similar inputs) are never sent to us or to any server, and we do not store them.

Your calculator inputs

Calculations happen locally on your device using JavaScript. We never receive the values you enter. The only exception is that some tools encode your inputs into the page URL so you can bookmark or share a link, if you choose to do that, those values live in the link you share, not on our servers. Simply closing the page discards your inputs.

Hosting and technical data

The site is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To serve and secure the site, Cloudflare may process limited technical data on our behalf, for example your IP address and standard request logs. This is a normal part of delivering any website and helps protect against abuse. Cloudflare acts as our hosting processor; you can read about their practices in Cloudflare's own privacy documentation.

Cookies

The calculators themselves set no cookies. Advertising cookies are set by Google AdSense, for EEA/UK visitors, only after consent (see Advertising below). We use no analytics cookies; visitor statistics, if any, come from cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Advertising

This site shows ads through Google AdSense to help cover its costs. Google and its partners may set and read cookies (and similar identifiers) to serve ads, cap how often you see them and, only with your consent, personalise them.

Your rights (EU GDPR)

Because the operator is based in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. We aim to practise data minimisation: we collect as little as possible, and by design the calculators collect nothing from you at all. For any advertising, our lawful basis is your consent, collected via Google's certified consent message described above.

International visitors

This site is aimed at people researching immigration options for Germany, including the Chancenkarte (Opportunity Card), the EU Blue Card and other visa routes described by authorities such as the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and the Make it in Germany portal, so visitors may be located anywhere in the world. Regardless of where you access the site from, we apply the same data-minimisation approach described above: personal information is collected only where necessary, our practices are described openly in this policy, and the calculators themselves do not collect personal information at all. This site provides general information only and is not immigration advice; always confirm current requirements with BAMF or another qualified source.
